In inverter AC (Air conditioner), compressor speed (maximum to minimum) is control as per the temperature requirement. If room temperature is high compressor runs with high speed and it slows down once temperature is stable. This variable speed compressor maintains the desire temperature in room throughout.
Then what is the difference between non inverter AC (Air conditioned / Air conditioner) and
inverter AC
(Air conditioned / Air conditioner)
as far as the room temperature is concerned?
Non inverter AC runs with fixed speed until it reaches the desire or set room temperature. Once it reaches the set temperature compressor goes off. But during the compressor run time it consumes the same amount of electricity which increase the electric consumption. Compressor also goes on and off frequently to keep room temperature at set point. It badly affects the life of compressor. Excess noise is observed as compressor continuously runs on fixed and maximum speed. But unlike non inverter AC, inverter AC starts with high speed till achieve the set room temperature and adjust the speed as per the temperature requirement. Due to the variable speed the electricity consume is very less. Also, the life of the compressor expands due to smooth running.
Are window AC’s available in inverter technology?
Yes, they are available. LG, Voltas, and Godrej manufacture inverter window AC (Air conditioner).
Advantages of inverter ac unit.
Air conditioners are designed for specific cooling capacity or as per the room size. But room sizes are not same. 2 Ton capacity air conditioner will run at peak all the time and will draw the maximum electricity till room temperature reaches it’s set point. But inverter AC runs smoothly and continuously and will draw less unit of electricity. As per BEE data on power consumption of inverter AC (Air conditioner) and Non inverter AC (Air conditioner), inverter AC (Air conditioner) units save approximately 7% of electricity than the non-inverter AC. The inverter AC units are more expensive than non-inverter AC unit, but this is balanced by lowering the electricity bill. Payback time is 2 years depending on the usage. As inverter AC units adjust their speed as per requirement of temperature, their parts life extend and result into less break down in the unit.
Are Inverter AC (Air conditioner) slow in cooling?
Inverter AC are not slow in cooling they are steady and stable in cooling as shown in following graph.
As shown in above graph non inverter AC compressor will cut off once temperature reaches to set temperature and again it will start once temperature rise. Cut off point temperature and starting point temperature is set. Compressor will go on and off as per set temperatures. It will create a high and low graph. The compressor speed will be fixed and maximum. But non inverter AC compressor will adjust its speed as per temperature requirement and keep the temperature same all the time.
Is there any star rating for inverter AC?
BEE has introduce the star rating for inverter AC. ISEER (Indian Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ration). ISEER calculation is almost same as EER. Only difference is that it considers variable power consumption and seasonal temperature changes.
